Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have reliable transportation and telephone
- Ability to lift, carry and/or hold up to 75 pounds
- Ability to perceive colors used on x-ray monitors or metal detector alarms
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms in noisy environments
- Ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must treat information as confidential
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- No criminal convictions
- Must have manual dexterity to operate screening equipment and physically inspect luggage
- Ability to verbally direct in English
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shifts
- Must be able to handle physical tasks such as opening zippers, latches and feeling beneath baggage contents
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military, or public contact preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation and telephone
- Ability to treat information confidentially
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal with various situations and client representatives
- Ability to perceive colors on x-ray monitors and metal detector alarms
- Ability to read identification badges, credentials, and package labels
- Manual dexterity to operate screening equipment and search luggage
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms
- Ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Physical ability to lift, carry, or hold up to 75 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout the shift

Job Duties
- Provide pre-departure security screening of persons and property using walk-thru metal detectors, x-ray machines and hand-held metal detectors
- Conduct physical bag searches to ensure bags are free of dangerous items prior to entering sterile area
- Examine all items placed in divest containers or requested for physical inspection
- Notify and coordinate with law enforcement or airline security personnel when necessary
- Ensure safe handling and control of dangerous or illegal items until authorities arrive
- Verbally detain persons when appropriate without physical restraint
- Assist disabled passengers and handle strollers as necessary
- Record operational tests and incidents on flight activity logs
- Report all government tests, real weapons, injuries, and major incidents immediately to supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness and report maintenance needs of the assigned work area
- Project a positive image and communicate courteously with clients, staff, and the public
- Adhere to company policies, code of conduct, and uniform requirements
