Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- prior restaurant greeter experience preferred
- familiarity with reservation systems such as SevenRooms or OpenTable
- ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- must obtain necessary government licenses or certificates such as health cards and alcohol service permits
- preferred CPR certification and/or first aid training
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting of 25 lbs
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- adherence to uniform and grooming standards
- legal authorization to work
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations
- ability to read and comprehend English to understand guest requests, memos, and promotional materials
- ability to speak English sufficiently to conduct small employee meetings
- ability to recall and promote menu items
- ability to move throughout crowded spaces to seat guests
- ability to handle customer complaints positively and provide solutions
Job Duties
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive
- offer choice of seating
- escort guests to their table and present menu
- read and maintain daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication
- maintain proper dining room setup and enforce uniform and grooming standards
- assign stations to service staff
- conduct daily roll call meetings to inform staff of promotions, specials, and events
- receive and record reservations and special functions
- perform opening and closing duties
- assist with cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins
- handle guest requests and ensure satisfaction
- maintain open communication between guests, management, and staff
- attend required meetings
