Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • prior restaurant greeter experience preferred
  • familiarity with reservation systems such as SevenRooms or OpenTable
  • ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • must obtain necessary government licenses or certificates such as health cards and alcohol service permits
  • preferred CPR certification and/or first aid training
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting of 25 lbs
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • adherence to uniform and grooming standards
  • legal authorization to work

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of restaurant operations including staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations
  • ability to read and comprehend English to understand guest requests, memos, and promotional materials
  • ability to speak English sufficiently to conduct small employee meetings
  • ability to recall and promote menu items
  • ability to move throughout crowded spaces to seat guests
  • ability to handle customer complaints positively and provide solutions

Job Duties

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive
  • offer choice of seating
  • escort guests to their table and present menu
  • read and maintain daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication
  • maintain proper dining room setup and enforce uniform and grooming standards
  • assign stations to service staff
  • conduct daily roll call meetings to inform staff of promotions, specials, and events
  • receive and record reservations and special functions
  • perform opening and closing duties
  • assist with cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins
  • handle guest requests and ensure satisfaction
  • maintain open communication between guests, management, and staff
  • attend required meetings
