Job Requirements
- Three years experience as a surgical technologist
- Graduate of surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated expertise in one complex surgical specialty or multiple specialties
- Demonstrated skills in precepting, time management, and organization
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in customer service, problem-solving, and initiative
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated expertise in one complex surgical specialty or multiple specialties
- Skills in precepting, time management, and organization
- Strong interpersonal skills in customer service, problem-solving, and initiative
- Experience as a surgical technologist for at least three years
- Preferred certification as a surgical technologist
- Preferred UCSF surgical technologist experience
Job Duties
- Function as preceptor, mentor, and resource to new scrub staff
- Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance
- Liaise with Biomedical Technicians
- Assist Perioperative Manager and Director with service activities such as checking carts and ordering supplies
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations
- Maintain expertise in complex surgical specialties
- Support operational efficiency in the Operating Room
