Job Requirements

  • Candidate must be 18 years or older
  • Satisfactory completion of background check and Live Scan background check
  • Completion of a satisfactory physical examination and pre-placement physical
  • Successful performance on reading comprehension test
  • Ability to lift and backlift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work variable hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout an eight-hour shift on uncarpeted surfaces

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years demonstrated experience in high-volume food production and general maintenance in a restaurant environment or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to carry out job duties
  • Skill in interacting effectively with guests and team members using positive communication techniques
  • Skill in basic math including addition and subtraction of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push, and crouch for extended periods
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to measure dry and liquid food stuffs accurately
  • Skill in operating various production equipment like mixers, food processors, meat slicers, and fryers
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety rules relevant to food production and service
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Detailed culinary knowledge including recipe and menu development
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead a team in a high-volume food service environment

Job Duties

  • Provide team leadership to cooks, assistant cooks, senior food service workers, and food service workers
  • Assign, motivate, and monitor the work of team members in food production
  • Prepare complex menu items and recipes according to culinary, production, and quality standards
  • Utilize and train others in the safe use of production equipment
  • Ensure gracious customer service and quality food delivery
  • Adhere strictly to food handling and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain accurate paperwork including temperature logs and production records
  • Assist management with recipe and menu development
