Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Background check required
- Live Scan background check must be completed before employment
- Candidate must be 18 years or older
- Pre-placement physical examination required
- Reading comprehension test will be conducted
Job Qualifications
- 3-4 years demonstrated experience in baking production and general maintenance in a bakery environment or equivalent education and experience
- Previous experience in preparing multiple bakery items for high volume bakery production
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques such as baking, cake and pastry decoration
- Ability to measure foodstuffs in various units to adhere to recipes
- Skill in basic math including whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
- Ability to lead and monitor work in a high volume bakery setting
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures in food establishments
- Strong bakery skills and understanding of bakery terminology and equipment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English adequately
- Time management and organizational skills for daily production planning
- Skill in preparing complex recipes to established standards
- Ability to train others in safe equipment use
- Ability to maintain accurate paperwork
- Ability to meet production timelines and handle fluctuating workloads
- Skill in effective communication and teamwork
Job Duties
- Assign, motivate and monitor the work of Senior Bakers, Bakers, and Assistant Bakers in bakery production
- Prepare the most complex bakery recipes according to culinary, production, and quality standards
- Utilize various bakery equipment safely and train others in its proper use
- Adhere to food handling and sanitation guidelines
- Follow established timelines to meet production and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate paperwork including temperature logs and production records
- Assist in developing and testing new bakery recipes
