Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum two years of cold food preparation and supervisory experience preferred
  • Culinary program training preferred
  • Ability to obtain any required government licenses or certificates
  • Prior experience in fast-paced food preparation environment preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to comply with Hotel and Golf Club rules and regulations
  • Willingness to work varied schedules reflecting business needs
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and extreme temperature ranges
  • Manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment and tools
  • Physical ability to lift, carry or move items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform duties of the position
  • High school diploma required
  • Culinary program training preferred
  • Minimum two years of cold food preparation and supervisory experience in restaurant, hotel or banquet facility preferred
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate, such as Hawaii Health Card Permit or Liquor Commission Card Service Permit
  • CPR and/or First Aid training preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all foods suitable for cooking according to standard recipes to ensure consistency of products to guests
  • Visually inspect, select and use food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items
  • Check and control the proper storage of products and portion, including high cost meat items
  • Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas clean and compliant with Department of Health regulations
  • Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition
  • Prepare requisition forms for supplies and maintain ordering of products and food items for production in the workstation
  • Assist in training the Pantry II staff in areas of production
