Job Requirements
- Any combination of education, training, or experience providing required knowledge and skills
- High school diploma required
- Culinary program training preferred
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience in hotel environment
- Ability to obtain required government licenses or certificates such as Hawaii Health Card and Liquor Commission Card
- Ability to work in confined spaces and extreme temperature ranges
- Regular attendance and reliability
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to lift or move items up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication skills in English
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary program training preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience as Cook IV or entry-level cook in hotel
- Experience working on line in fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills for recipe and portion measurements
- Ability to comply with health and safety standards
- Preferred CPR and First Aid training
Job Duties
- Prepare foods according to standard recipes to ensure quality and consistency
- Visually inspect and select high-quality food items
- Check and control proper storage and portion control of products
- Maintain cleanliness and working condition of refrigeration, storage, and work areas
- Ensure all equipment is clean and functioning properly
- Prepare requisition forms for supplies and food items
- Employ math skills to prepare items accurately
- Perform general cleaning using standard hotel products
- Keep floors dry and clean to prevent accidents
- Assist with moving supplies and equipment
- Follow all hotel and golf club operational rules
- Comply with safety and health regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and slicers
- Communicate effectively with employees and guests in English
