Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education training or experience providing required knowledge skills and abilities
  • high school diploma required
  • minimum two years cook experience in hotel restaurant or banquet facility preferred
  • ability to obtain government required license or certificate such as Hawaii Health Card Permit Liquor Commission Card Service Permit
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges
  • regular attendance and punctuality
  • ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and employees
  • physical ability to stand walk and or sit continuously
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
  • ability to lift or move items up to 50 lbs continuously

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • culinary program training preferred
  • minimum two years cook experience in hotel restaurant or banquet facility preferred
  • ala carte cooking experience preferred
  • experience working on the line in a fast paced environment preferred
  • ability to obtain government required licenses or certificates such as Hawaii Health Card Permit Liquor Commission Card Service Permit
  • CPR and or First Aid training preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all foods suitable for cooking according to standard recipes to ensure product consistency
  • visually inspect select and use highest quality food items for menu preparation
  • check and control proper storage and portioning of products, including high cost meat items
  • maintain clean and sanitary refrigeration storage and work areas in compliance with health regulations
  • ensure kitchen equipment is clean and in proper working condition
  • prepare requisition forms and manage ordering of supplies for the workstation
  • apply basic mathematical skills to understand recipes measurements and portion sizes
  • utilize knowledge of line cooking fundamentals
  • adhere to accepted sanitation standards
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • keep floors dry and clean to prevent slip or fall accidents
  • move supplies and equipment as requested
  • clean up spills to maintain safe work environment
  • perform other duties assigned by kitchen supervisory staff
  • comply with Hotel and Golf Club rules and regulations for safe efficient operation
