Job Requirements
- Any combination of education, training or experience proving required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties
- high school diploma
- minimum five years related work experience
- liquor commission manager's card preferred or to be acquired within 30 days after hire
- flexible availability to work varied shifts and holidays
- ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week
- ability to travel for business or training as required
- ability to work outdoor venues
- ability to stand, walk, and/or sit throughout the shift
- ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
- proficiency in relevant software
- effective communication skills in English including speaking, reading and writing
- ability to handle stressful situations and work under pressure
- strong multitasking and organizational abilities
- supervisory skills to plan, organize, direct, coach, train and discipline employees
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- college degree in hotel and restaurant management preferred
- minimum five years related work experience
- liquor commission manager's card preferred or to be acquired within 30 days after hire
- ability to speak another language, preferably Japanese, is an asset
- comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards
- proficiency in software such as Infor HMS, HotSos, Microsoft Office, OnTrack, Dayforce, Birchstreet
- strong supervisory and leadership skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to manage budgets and inventory
- knowledge of applicable federal, state and local health and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Hire, schedule and train all banquet staff including conducting roll call and monthly meetings and illustrating proper techniques and etiquette for various service types
- define staff performance requirements, monitor performance and develop action plans for achieving goals
- delegate assignments to banquet captains
- supervise the set-up of function rooms including placement of linen, silver, china and equipment ensuring cleanliness and proper inventory
- communicate with kitchen, service, conference services and engineering staff during functions to ensure quality service and adherence to safety regulations
- supervise clean-up of function rooms and proper breakdown and storage of equipment
- train, direct and supervise banquet porters
- complete and process billing information and payroll for each event including calculating hours worked and gratuity distribution
- check staff attendance, adjust and reassign server stations as necessary
- manage banquet equipment inventory and budget for additional equipment
- anticipate and resolve issues during events to ensure positive guest experiences
- participate in client meetings, site inspections and pre-conference preparations
- assist wait help and banquet captains in executing events to hotel and golf club quality standards
- maintain an open door policy and monitor employee relations
- attend meetings and order supplies and linens
- perform other duties as requested by the Director of Food and Beverage
