Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to stand or walk for the entire scheduled shift
- ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift 75 lbs
- no adverse allergic reactions to fresh, dried or processed products
- ability to tolerate varying temperatures and exposure to dust and cleaning agents
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- ability to comply with company policies and safety regulations
- minimum age 18 to operate specific machinery
Job Qualifications
- ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
- knowledge of grocery store products and safety regulations
- ability to follow instructions and complete training programs
- good communication and customer service skills
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs
- basic equipment operational knowledge
- ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
- minimum age of 18 for operation of certain equipment
Job Duties
- maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work/shopping environment
- maintain sanitation and quality assurance standards by cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- keep floors clear of debris and spills
- greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- handle damaged or returned products according to company policy with priority on refrigerated, perishable items and sell-by dates
- be knowledgeable about the various products carried in the store
- utilize and maintain equipment and report any equipment problems immediately
- adhere to all federal, state and local regulations related to front end operations
- follow the company’s hazard communication program and safely use chemical products
- dress according to company policy including uniform and name badge
- comply with hygiene standards such as hand washing and glove use when handling food
- complete all required department training programs
- comply with ShopRite service priorities of clean, fresh and friendly
- may operate cash registers
- perform other duties as assigned
