Job Qualifications

- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Ability to make change with all American currency denominations
- Ability to operate equipment such as case cutters and U-Boats
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs
- Ability to provide superior customer service
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and adhere to dress code
- Ability to work with various fresh, dried and processed products without allergic consequences
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Ability to work in temperature-varied environments
- Ability to work cooperatively
- Ability to climb ladders safely
- Ability to comply with work schedules and attendance policies
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain all department sanitation and QA standards including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Check products received against invoices
- Use slicing machines and related equipment where applicable
- Prepare and replenish product for sale in any department where applicable
- Always operate equipment with all safeguards in place and observe safe methods of performing duties
- Comply with store rules, company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state and federal regulations
- Dress according to company policy
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
- Follow procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, price marking, scaling, and restocking products
- Control freshness, quality and temperature of products by following safe food handling procedures
- Accurately identify and scan products, process payments and provide proper change
- Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to policy
- Adhere to HAZCOM program and chemical safety instructions
- Check and report refrigeration equipment issues
- Remove trash and cardboard to designated areas and operate baler
- Complete price changes as directed
- Utilize and maintain department equipment
- Participate in training programs
- Retrieve carts from parking lot
- Perform other duties as required
