Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift 75 lbs
- Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, slicing machines
- Maintain neat, well-groomed appearance and adhere to company dress code
- Ability to provide customers with superior service
- Ability to comply with all health and safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends
- Ability to complete paid training within first 30 days
- Ability to handle equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Ability to make change with all denominations of American currency
- Ability to adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations
- Ability to operate department equipment such as case cutter and U-Boats
- Ability to provide customers with superior service
- Ability to work with a variety of fresh, dried and processed products without allergic consequences
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead storage
- Ability to meet all work schedules and comply with attendance policies
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain all department sanitation and QA standards including cleaning, sanitizing work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Check products received against an invoice
- Use slicing machine and related equipment where applicable
- Prepare and replenish product for sale
- Operate equipment with all safeguards in place
- Comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, and health regulations
- Greet customers and provide courteous service
- Follow procedures for receiving, storing, price marking, scaling and restocking products
- Control freshness and quality by following safe food handling procedures
- Operate cash register, process payments and provide change
- Handle damaged or returned products according to policy
- Adhere to HAZCOM program and label instructions for chemical products
- Check refrigeration equipment and report issues
- Remove trash and operate baler
- Complete price changes and departmental training programs
- Retrieve carts from parking lot
- Perform other duties as required
