Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain all department sanitation and quality assurance standards including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Check products received against invoices
- Use slicing machines and related equipment where applicable
- Prepare and replenish product for sale in any department where applicable
- Operate equipment with all safeguards in place ensuring safe methods of performing duties
- Comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements and local, state and federal regulations
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
- Follow procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, price marking, scaling, restocking products ensuring quality and product rotation
- Control freshness and temperature of products by following safe food handling procedures
- Operate the cash register and follow all cash handling procedures
- Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy
- Adhere to the company's HAZCOM program and use chemicals safely
- Check refrigeration equipment regularly and report any failures
- Remove trash and operate balers
- Complete price changes as directed
- Maintain and utilize equipment properly
- Complete all required training programs
- Retrieve carts from parking lot
- Perform other duties as assigned
