Job Requirements
- Associates degree in early childhood education
- Associates degree and 9 early childhood education credits
- Child Development Associate certification
- Two years of college with Certificate of Recognition in Early Childhood
- Minimum of 6 months related work experience
- Valid Hawaii driver's license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Current community first aid and pediatric CPR certification
- Current Department of Health, Food Handler's certification
- Ability to implement early childhood behavior management strategies
- Patience and understanding of young children's developmental needs
- Experience maintaining safe classroom environment
- Proficiency in classroom technology
- Ability to build relationships with families

Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in early childhood education
- Associates degree and 9 early childhood education credits
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certification
- Two years of college (60 credits) with College Certificate of Recognition in Early Childhood (16 credits)
- Minimum of 6 months related work experience
- Valid Hawaii driver's license or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
- Current community first aid and pediatric CPR certification
- Current Department of Health, Food Handler's certification
- Ability to implement and support early childhood behavior management strategies
- Patience and understanding of early childhood developmental needs
- Experience in maintaining a safe and structured classroom environment
- Proficiency with classroom technology and educational tools
- Ability to build strong relationships with families and students
- Team player with effective collaboration skills
- Adaptability in meeting diverse student needs
- Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education preferred
- Two years of classroom experience ideally with preschool students
- Experience planning and implementing learning activities
- Familiarity with culturally relevant curricula especially Hawaiian culture-based education
Job Duties
- Assist with daily classroom instruction by providing individual, small group, and large group support in line with lesson plans
- Help create and prepare instructional materials, contributing to the development of engaging learning resources tailored to students' needs
- Support the teacher in implementing lesson plans, ensuring effective delivery of content and student engagement
- Facilitate group activities, encouraging cooperative learning and active participation
- Observe students and document behavior, progress, and development for teacher assessments
- Supervise student behavior independently and under the teacher's direction, employing early childhood behavior management strategies aligned with school policies and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and maintaining classroom organization, including snack menu planning and supply management
- Take responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment by regularly scanning for safety concerns, ensuring proper sanitation of all areas, and adhering to health and safety policies
- Maintain student records, including attendance and other necessary documentation, and communicate student needs to the teacher and staff members
- Build strong relationships with students' families by maintaining open communication regarding their child's behavior, learning progress, and developmental milestones
- Assume full responsibility for classroom management, lesson delivery, and student supervision in absence of the Teacher, ensuring continuity of the learning environment
- Develop and implement lesson plans or follow teacher-prepared plans to maintain a structured and engaging classroom experience
- Implement child assessment plans to monitor and support student development, providing appropriate interventions or feedback
- Participate in required professional development and training sessions to enhance professional growth
- Engage in home visits with the teacher to build relationships with families and provide progress updates
