Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • comply with all company and state-specific standards and maintains validation of required credentials for the position
  • ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students
  • high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience with cooking in large quantities preferably in a school setting
  • obtain or willing to obtain a ServSafe credential

Job Duties

  • plan organize supervise and participate in the preparation cooking baking and serving of a variety of foods in quantity
  • serve food hygienically and interact with children to model proper eating etiquette and food handling
  • keep the kitchen clean and organized according to health department standards
  • assist with classroom coverage morning and afternoon bus runs and other school operations
  • maintain quality meal programs ensuring safe and efficient delivery of food to children
  • engage students by teaching eating etiquette and proper food handling
  • work collaboratively with educators administrators and families to build positive relationships
