Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- meet state-specific educational and certification guidelines
- relevant kitchen experience in childcare or commercial settings
- current valid food service or handler's permit
- compliance with health and safety regulations including immunizations and physicals
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely
- capability to work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures
- sound judgment and professionalism
- supportive team attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- relevant experience in childcare kitchen, commercial kitchen, or equivalent
- valid food service or handler's permit or license
- understanding of state nutritional guidelines
- ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- good communication and teamwork skills
- ability to maintain positive interactions with children and families
Job Duties
- Plan, post, and follow approved menus that meet nutritional guidelines
- maintain food inventory and place orders within budget
- prepare and serve food in appropriate quantities and safe containers
- adhere to health and safety regulations including proper storage and sanitation
- wash and sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment
- clean and maintain kitchen appliances and work areas
- collaborate with team members and provide friendly customer service to families
