Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • meet state-specific educational and certification guidelines
  • relevant kitchen experience in childcare or commercial settings
  • current valid food service or handler's permit
  • compliance with health and safety regulations including immunizations and physicals
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely
  • capability to work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures
  • sound judgment and professionalism
  • supportive team attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • relevant experience in childcare kitchen, commercial kitchen, or equivalent
  • valid food service or handler's permit or license
  • understanding of state nutritional guidelines
  • ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to maintain positive interactions with children and families

Job Duties

  • Plan, post, and follow approved menus that meet nutritional guidelines
  • maintain food inventory and place orders within budget
  • prepare and serve food in appropriate quantities and safe containers
  • adhere to health and safety regulations including proper storage and sanitation
  • wash and sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment
  • clean and maintain kitchen appliances and work areas
  • collaborate with team members and provide friendly customer service to families
