Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • minimum 2 years of experience in food service, school cafeteria, or childcare kitchen setting
  • strong time-management and organizational skills
  • excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • dependable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and handling regulations
  • ability to follow CACFP guidelines if applicable
  • coursework or certification in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Food Safety, or Hospitality Management preferred

Job Qualifications

  • coursework or certification in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Food Safety, or Hospitality Management preferred
  • minimum 2 years of experience in food service, school cafeteria, or childcare kitchen setting
  • experience in menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
  • prior experience working with children’s meal programs or early childhood centers preferred
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and handling regulations (ServSafe certification preferred)
  • strong time-management and organizational skills
  • ability to follow CACFP guidelines (if applicable) and portion sizes for young children
  • excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • dependable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Create menus, order food, prepare meals and deliver meals to other locations
  • order products on a regular schedule to eliminate out of stock items such as food, paper goods, cleaning supplies and snacks, as well as process inventory of all kitchen items
  • ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including all food preparation areas, food containers, refrigerators, and freezers
  • maintain the highest level of sanitation and be responsible for the inspection with the health department
  • other duties, as assigned
