Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years related experience and/or training

Job Qualifications

  • Two years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • strong culinary skills including cooking in large quantities and to order

Job Duties

  • Assist with taking inventory and placing orders with approved suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality products
  • assist in purchasing Prepared Foods following brand guidelines and marketing plan
  • receive Prepared Food deliveries following established receiving procedures
  • store and oversee the storage of products to ensure FIFO is followed
  • partner with the Prepared Foods Manager to follow weekly promotions and conduct periodic price surveys
  • ensure accurate, up-to-date PLUs in the Point of Sale
  • develop and execute new and seasonal products with emphasis on local
  • maintain product levels to maximize sales and minimize loss
  • ensure all items are added to the Point of Sale before shelving
  • assist in invoice reviews and timely submission to Finance
  • create attractive displays following merchandising plans
  • maintain displays abundant, clean, and properly signed
  • support department resets that improve shopping and sales
  • assist customers with product knowledge and special orders
  • review departmental financial reports with Prepared Foods Manager
  • ensure proper disposal of damaged/spoiled products
  • track and maintain shrink percentage within budget
  • maintain clean and orderly department according to health standards
  • assist with monthly inventory counts
  • maintain department equipment and report repair needs
  • assist in special events, demos, and food fairs
  • monitor and train staff on safety and sanitation
  • ensure all orders and invoices are processed promptly
  • maintain backstock organization and labeling
  • lead staff in providing welcoming customer service
  • participate in department, store, and co-op leadership meetings
  • assist with hiring and complete staff training programs
  • oversee probationary periods and employee evaluations
  • assist with payroll and schedule management
  • lead department staff in customer service and product knowledge
  • provide positive work environment and professional management
  • ensure operational coverage in staff absences
  • maintain required food handling and sanitation certifications
  • assist with staffing level reviews and budget adherence
  • abide by Co-op policies and procedures
  • maintain regular, predictable attendance
  • keep workspaces orderly and maintain a positive attitude
  • perform other duties as assigned
