Job Requirements
- Minimum 12 months retail experience
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- capable of hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperatures ranging from less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
- broad product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficient mathematical skills to assess financial performance, monitor profitability, and manage inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods team members
- works with Prepared Foods trainer to train team members to build and sustain a high-performance team
- assists in training of new team members using learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs team members as necessary
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
- provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
