Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing and walking 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures from below freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • capacity to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

  • Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • excellent interpersonal, motivational, and team building skills
  • capability to teach others positively
  • solid product knowledge
  • advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies
  • proficiency in mathematical skills for financial and inventory management
  • demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
  • proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations applications
  • retail experience of 12 months or more

Job Duties

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members
  • works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train Team Members and minimize turnover
  • assists in training new Team Members using learning checklists and materials
  • keeps cases and shelves clean, stocked, and properly rotated
  • opens and closes department according to procedures
  • ensures breaks are given
  • communicates team concerns to leadership
  • sets and achieves high standards of retail execution
  • fosters positive teamwork and morale
  • maintains customer flow awareness and directs Team Members accordingly
  • selects, trains, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members
  • provides performance evaluations
  • communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
