Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to freezing, refrigerated, and high temperature environments
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
- product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- 12 plus months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members
- works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train Team Members and build a high-performance team
- assists in training new Team Members using learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated
- opens and closes the department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves high standards of retail execution
- fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- maintains awareness of customer needs and directs Team Members accordingly
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members
- provides thoughtful performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
