Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • able to perform hand use motions like grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • able to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • able to work in temperatures below freezing, refrigerator range, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require ladder use

  • proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and inventory management
  • demonstrated decision-making, leadership, prioritization, and delegation abilities
  • proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
  • 12+ months retail experience

Job Duties

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods team members
  • works with Prepared Foods trainer to train team members to build a high-performance team and minimize turnover
  • assists in training new team members using learning checklists and materials
  • keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and rotated
  • opens and closes department according to procedures
  • ensures all necessary breaks are given
  • communicates team concerns to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
  • sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
  • fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale
  • maintains awareness of customer flows and directs team members to satisfy customers
  • selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
  • provides timely and thorough performance evaluations
  • consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals
