Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
- able to perform hand use motions like grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- able to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
- able to work in temperatures below freezing, refrigerator range, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- able to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
- may require ladder use

- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others positively and constructively
- product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies
- proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and inventory management
- demonstrated decision-making, leadership, prioritization, and delegation abilities
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- 12+ months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods team members
- works with Prepared Foods trainer to train team members to build a high-performance team and minimize turnover
- assists in training new team members using learning checklists and materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and rotated
- opens and closes department according to procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and directs team members to satisfy customers
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
- provides timely and thorough performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals
