Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts

Job Duties

  • Follow prep lists created by chefs
  • Label and stock all cooking ingredients
  • Complete all tasks in order on the prep list from kitchen managers
  • Wash, chop, and sort ingredients
  • Measure quantities of seasonings and ingredients
  • Adhere to nutrition and sanitary regulations
  • Keep track of ingredient inventory and coordinate resupply
  • Learn cooking methods and techniques
  • Ensure proper storage and accessibility of food items
  • Supervise food and cooling room temperatures
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
  • Assist chefs with food preparation and culinary tasks
  • Execute cooking techniques under chef direction
  • Prepare and cook food following recipes, quality, and presentation standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • Ensure appliance and food temperature correctness
  • Set up and break down workstation
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen tools and equipment
  • Follow company safety and security policies
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for dishware, glassware, silverware, and cookware
  • Operate and maintain dish machine
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
