Job Requirements

  • Up to date SerSafe Food Handling Certification
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Ability to work weekends and on-call shifts
  • Willingness to submit weekly COVID tests until further notice
  • Willingness to take temperature checks upon arrival until further notice
  • Ability to work early mornings and varied weekend shifts
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of vocational school or two-year associate degree
  • At least one year of cooking experience
  • Excellent kitchen knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check
  • COVID vaccination, booster shot, or willingness to receive both
  • Strong organization skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to work on feet for most of the day
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exceptional time management skills

Job Duties

  • Begin work wearing mask and chef jacket or chef shirt
  • Thoroughly read daily task and respond when task is complete
  • Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations
  • Put away air dry pots and pans
  • Submit weekly COVID test until further notice
  • Take temperature upon arrival until further notice
  • Prepare food including cleaning and cutting ingredients
  • Complete daily cleaning schedule of appliances, food preparation, and storage items
  • Plate prepared foods based on senior cook guidance
  • Wash and clean kitchen and cooking utensils and store equipment at end of shift
  • Organize donated food stock using FIFO system and ensure food items are properly covered and labeled
  • Ensure kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards
  • Perform thorough weekly kitchen cleaning
  • Work at a fast pace as a line cook
  • Multitask to complete several preparation tasks at once
  • Assume full responsibility for quality of products served
  • Learn EOCP procedures and policies on the job
  • Prepare food using ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Work overtime if needed
  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • Follow daily prep list at start of each shift
  • Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • Stock and maintain sufficient food products at line stations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
  • Handle, store and rotate all products properly
  • Report equipment and food quality problems to Food Service Manager
  • Inform Food Service Manager of product shortages
  • Close kitchen properly following checklist
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Deliver and serve meals to designated locations twice daily
  • Take accurate 15 minutes breaks and 30 minutes lunch break
