Job Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary workplace language
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to perform culinary tasks including cutting and cooking
- Ability to work in varied temperatures from freezers to hot kitchens
- Capacity to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Experience operating kitchen machinery such as mixers, grinders, slicers
- Ability to create and dismantle buffet displays
- Ability to handle high noise levels
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required licenses or permits
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computational ability
- Ability to read recipes and follow instructions
- Ability to demonstrate culinary techniques such as cutting, cooking principles, and plate presentation
- Ability to maintain safety and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
- Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
- Visually inspect and select high-quality food items
- Check and control proper storage of products and portion control
- Keep refrigeration, equipment, storage and work areas clean and in working condition
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
- Participate in guest relations by addressing guest concerns professionally and courteously
