Job Description

Delaware North Travel is a prominent hospitality services company currently seeking a full-time Prep Cook to join their team at Syracuse Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, New York. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time
  • Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts, holidays, and weekends
  • Adherence to health codes and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and follow instructions
  • Capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment ware
  • Experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations, complying with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, and label, date, and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
  • Communicate with the chef for any instructions or training
  • Uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations and follow all safety, security, and kitchen procedures
  • Maintain food, utensils, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
