Job Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Five years experience working in a commercial, hotel, or fast-food kitchen
  • Three years supervisory experience preferably in a kitchen environment
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance
  • Current Servsafe or equivalent Foodhandler’s card
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
  • Ability to be resourceful and take initiative
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-ethnic environment
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook to order foods requiring short and broader preparation time
  • Maintain overall cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of assigned kitchen area
  • Ensure assigned staff arrive on time, in uniform, and ready to work
  • Produce food and serve ala carte or produce large quantities for later service
  • Prepare food following federal, state and corporate standards and regulations
  • Read food orders or receive verbal instructions for proper food preparation
  • Follow recipes and product directions for seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving various foods
  • Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut and shred ingredients
  • Taste products, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records for planning and supplies
  • Maintain workstation and equipment in a clean and sanitary state
  • Attend all required allergy and foodborne illness training
  • Comply with all Foundation HACCP standards and procedures
  • Report all accidents and injuries promptly
  • Adhere to company safety and risk management policies
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments
  • Attend designated training programs, classroom and virtual
  • May prepare bakery items, receive, store inventory, move and lift foodstuffs, prepare special diet meals
  • Supervise up to 5 student staff per shift
