Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- valid food handler's card
- ability to work hours including late nights and weekends
- ability to work in a hot, busy kitchen
- on-the-job training in knife use and safe food handling

Job Duties
- Receives deliveries and stores food in refrigerators and freezers
- cleans food preparation areas and removes garbage from the kitchen
- makes lists of items that need to be ordered and assists in keeping the kitchen organized
- rotates stock in containers to maintain freshness
- prepares the ingredients for chefs to cook the entrees and meals offered on the menu
- washes, chops, grates and slices vegetables
- cuts and slices meats to appropriate portion sizes
- makes appetizers, soups and salads
- assists in preparing salads and fruit trays for functions
- assists in cleaning the kitchen before closing
- complies with special food handling requirements such as vegan or gluten-free dishes
