Job Requirements
- 1+ year of kitchen experience
- Experience in catering preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and service
- ServSafe certification or willingness to train
- Ability to commute to Grand Prairie, TX
- Comfortable working in kitchen environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must adhere to uniform requirements including non-slip shoes
- Must maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
Job Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen, experience in catering is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and food service with understanding of BEOs, reading production sheets, and task completion
- ServSafe certified or available to receive training
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
- Excellent listening, communication skills, and customer service
- Planning and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivated with a high energy level
- Strong verbal communication
- Understanding of food safety practices including temperature logs and cleaning/sanitizing paperwork
Job Duties
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations
- Following prep lists created by lead culinary
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock
- Preparing simple dishes as directed by the Executive Chef
- Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
- Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures
- Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
- Maintaining the highest level of food quality with your culinary team
- Ensuring proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen and food service areas
- Performing other related duties as needed
