Job Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience in line cooking or related roles
  • Ability to prepare food according to chef’s specifications
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability for part-time hours
  • Serve Safe certification within 2 weeks of starting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience including as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with the industry’s best practices
  • Serve Safe Certificate within 2 weeks of employment
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Teamwork and leadership qualities
  • Communication skills

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Cook items on menu in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef instructions
  • Clean up station and properly label leftover food
  • Stock inventory properly following guidelines
  • Ensure food is served simultaneously, in high quality and timely manner
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
