The Prep Cook role at Epicurean Group offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to advance their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment. Working primarily during morning shifts from 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, the Prep Cook will play a crucial role in maintaining food quality and safety standards while preparing a variety of menu items in accordance with established recipes and production schedules. The position requires previous prep cooking experience of 2 to 3 years, with a valid Food Handler's card preferred, ensuring that candidates are familiar with food safety procedures and sanitation regulations.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include following daily production worksheets, properly storing and labeling food items, operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, and complying with all federal, state, and local health regulations. The Prep Cook will also serve customers efficiently and maintain accurate documentation to support quality assurance. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years of previous prep cooking experience
  • valid Food Handler's card preferred
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • ability to comply with federal, state and local health regulations
  • physical ability to perform cooking and kitchen tasks
  • reliable attendance

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • follow HACCP guidelines
  • complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • resolve customer concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
