Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler’s Permit required
- Training in Servsafe beneficial
- State sanitation certificate preferred
- 0-2 years of related food service experience preferred
- Must have good communication skills in English
- Ability to follow written instructions and recipes
- Ability to work extended periods standing and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, bending, and reaching
- Must be dependable and organized
- Must show patience, compassion, and respect to senior residents
- Ability to work flexible hours including some holidays
- Must comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to maintain neat and orderly work area
- Must have a well-groomed appearance according to food code and organizational standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler’s Permit

- 0-2 years of related food service experience desired
- Experience with basic operation of kitchen equipment preferred
- Good working knowledge of kitchen environment and food preparation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and follow recipes independently
- Basic computer skills
- Dependable, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to work within standard policies and limited supervision
- Patience and compassion for senior adults
- Ability to adhere to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements
- Willingness to work some holidays and flexible hours
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook to order foods requiring short preparation time
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim meats
- Take and record temperatures, correct temperature discrepancies, and maintain sanitation standards
- Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and food areas
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and adhere to all safety and risk management policies
- Assist with set ups and break down of serving lines
- Plate food with attention to appearance and garnish
- Receive inventory and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets
- Attend allergy and foodborne illness in-service training and apply food safety principles
