- County of San Diego Food Handler Card
- cooking experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
- working knowledge of cooking temperature guidelines
- ability to safely use knives
- ability to prepare menu items from recipes
- ability to perform mathematical equations
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time
- ability to bend and stoop
- ability to maintain professionalism and composure
- ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
- ability to communicate effectively in the English language
- ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
- ability to accept constructive criticism
- ability to appear for work on time
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- culinary degree is preferred
- previous cooking experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
- working knowledge of cooking temperature guidelines
- ability to prepare menu items from recipes
- ability to safely use knives
- ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to maintain professionalism and composure

Job Duties
- Provide kitchen with food products
- maintain a safe and sanitary cooking area
- maintain clean and orderly walk-in and storage areas
- safely handle and prepare menu items from recipes
- collaborate with kitchen team to meet daily operational needs
- perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
