Job Requirements

  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card
  • cooking experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
  • high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • culinary degree preferred
  • multi-lingual preferred

Job Qualifications

  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card
  • cooking experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
  • working knowledge of cooking temperature guidelines
  • ability to safely use knives
  • ability to prepare menu items from recipes
  • ability to perform mathematical equations
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time
  • ability to bend and stoop
  • ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • ability to accept constructive criticism
  • ability to appear for work on time

Job Duties

  • Provides kitchen with food products
  • maintains a safe and sanitary cooking area
  • maintains clean and orderly walk in and storage areas
  • maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen
  • performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department
