Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- certificate in health and sanitation as required by the County Health Department
- two years experience in food service industry
- knowledge of substance abuse preferred
- working knowledge of alcohol and chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation programs preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- certificate in health and sanitation as required by the County Health Department
- two (2) years' experience in food service industry, residential/inpatient setting preferred
- knowledge of substance abuse preferred
- working knowledge of alcohol and chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation programs, including 12 step programs preferred
- excellent ability to work with diverse groups of individuals
- professional and pleasant demeanor, with an emphasis on quality customer service
- ability to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations
- ability to write and speak effectively
- ability to manage several areas of responsibility simultaneously
Job Duties
- Inspect all kitchen utensils for cleanliness and safety
- ensure that clients are properly oriented for use of any equipment they may operate
- ensure that all health procedures are followed in food preparation and serving
- attend applicable staff meetings as directed by Residential Manager/Supervisor
- assist in preparing dishes for patients in accordance to supervisor instructions
- assist in washing and drying dishware, glassware and flatware
- follow instructions for meal preparations for patients with food allergies and make sure to omit any ingredient that may cause gastronomical trouble
- prepare food trays with items such as plates, flatware, napkins and condiments
- place trays in dumbwaiters or pushcarts and physically push them to assigned areas
- collect food trays and dirty dishes and cart them back to the kitchen for washing
- handle kitchen garbage disposal activities by placing trash in appropriate receptacles
- maintain ethical standards and continued professional growth
- abide by Program and NCTR policy and procedures
- ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintained
- promote, in public and private contacts, the quality standards and ethical practices of NCTR staff
- continue professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and NCTR staff in-service trainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staff
- maintain current licensure/certification including FEAR, CPR, First Aid
- maintain professional boundaries with staff and client
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
