Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand and bend for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip foods and operate kitchen equipment
  • Availability to work days, evenings, holidays, weekends, and flexible schedules
  • Ability to understand and follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and follow instructions
  • Capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment ware
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations, complying with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, and label, date, and wrap food products by ServSafe procedures
  • Communicate with the chef for any instructions or training
  • Uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations and follow all safety, security, and kitchen procedures
  • Maintain food, utensils, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory by guidelines
