Job Requirements
- patient, tactful, and flexible when dealing with residents, family members, volunteers, visitors, physicians, staff members and the general public
- willingness to perform a variety of tasks
- ability and willingness to work holidays and weekends
- commitment to confidentiality
- ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, team members and guests
- must be able to pass a drug and background test
Job Qualifications
- a high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 1 year experience as a prep cook
- strong culinary skills including knife proficiency
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- commitment to Touchmark values of excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion
- genuine interest in caring for elderly residents
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- willingness to learn and improve skills
Job Duties
- operate all necessary equipment to perform essential functions of the position
- ensure prep cook duties are performed in accordance with the established Touchmark Gold Standards
- read and interpret recipes, manage high volume prep lists, have safe and clean kitchen practices, good knife skills and a desire to hustle and produce quality food
- work within a team environment to achieve daily goals
- maintain a clean environment and a healthy atmosphere for residents, guests, and team members
- perform dishwasher duties as necessary during shifts
- adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
