Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in restaurant or food service
- completion of DOH Food Safety and Sanitation Course
- ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
- valid driver's license
- TB clearance
- ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- strong communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively
- willingness to travel occasionally
- physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
- proficiency in use of commercial kitchen equipment and POS software
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Complete DOH Food Safety and Sanitation Course successfully
- refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- clean and sanitize workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- use the Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products
- weigh or measure ingredients
- portion according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications and wrap the food or place it directly on plates for service
- wash, peel, and cut various foods such as fruits and vegetables to prepare for cooking or serving
- mix ingredients for green, molded fruit, vegetable, and pasta salads
- make special dressings and sauces for sandwiches
- stir and strain soups and sauces
- store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- take and record temperature of food and storage areas
- place food trays over warmers or in refrigerated cabinets
- receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils appropriately
- assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
- carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils between storage and work areas
- use manual or electric appliances to prepare food
- inform supervisors about equipment issues and inventory needs
- remove trash and clean garbage containers
- complete opening and closing checklists and assist in kitchen operations
- attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
- coordinate with employees to meet guest needs and support restaurant operations
- fill in for fellow employees as needed
- keep records of food quantities used
- load dishwashing machines and hand-wash dishes
- cut, slice, or grind ingredients according to recipes
- stock cupboards and refrigerators
- tend salad bars and buffet meals
- add items to trays on assembly lines
- package take-out foods or serve customers
- sweep and mop kitchen floors
- scrape leftovers into garbage
- fill production records accurately
- complete physical inventory count
