Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED preferred
- Minimum six months experience in a working kitchen or as a kitchen steward or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- No felony, theft or stealing convictions
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must pass background investigation
- Must obtain and maintain gaming license
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or GED preferred
- Six months experience in a working kitchen or as a kitchen steward or equivalent
- Ability to learn to safely use kitchen equipment, utensils, tools and machinery
- Ability to learn safe kitchen practices
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s card
- Ability to communicate, read, and write basic English
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service
- Ability to work in fast paced environments
- Ability to perform in a professional appearance and manner
- Ability to be organized and coordinate tasks
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
- Knowledge of basic foods and their uses
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Knowledge of metric and standard measurements
- Ability to learn culinary methods, techniques, and principles
- Ability to communicate clearly with management
Job Duties
- Learns to prepare a variety of foods according to menu and business demand
- Performs tasks set forth by superiors
- Performs repetitive tasks
- Uses and learns proper knife skills, cooking and baking techniques, methods and terminology
- Understands and follows standardized recipes for all food venues
- Understands and follows through with all assigned tasks
- Clearly communicates with lead pastry cooks, lead cooks, and room chefs
- Maintains a clean, organized and sanitized work area while following health and food safety regulations and codes
- Ensures all assigned venue areas are taken care of and duties completed
- Keeps all food storage areas clean, organized, labeled and dated
- Keeps equipment, tools, floors, workstations and food prep areas clean and organized from clutter and non-approved items
- Works according to established casino procedures
- Communicates well with team members maintaining a positive and professional work environment
- Contributes to team effort and task accomplishment
- Performs other duties as required
