Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and sometimes high-pressure environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food safety protocols
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
  • SERV Safe certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus
  • a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn

Job Duties

  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice ingredients as required for daily recipes
  • measure and mix ingredients following specific recipes and portion guidelines
  • prepare sauces, dressings, and other necessary components for dishes
  • assist Line Cooks and Chefs with ingredient preparation for service
  • maintain proper food storage and labeling using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method
  • follow all local, state, and federal food safety regulations to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
  • store and handle food safely to prevent contamination and cross-contact
  • clean and sanitize prep stations, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment before and after use
  • monitor food temperatures and adhere to safe cooking and storage procedures
  • wear appropriate PPE and follow ServSafe and OSHA kitchen safety protocols
  • work efficiently to ensure all prep tasks are completed before service begins
  • assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries and kitchen supplies
  • maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked prep area
  • support other kitchen team members as needed to ensure smooth operations
  • follow instructions from the Head Chef and adapt to changing kitchen needs
