Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and sometimes high-pressure environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food safety protocols
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
- SERV Safe certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus
- a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
Job Duties
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice ingredients as required for daily recipes
- measure and mix ingredients following specific recipes and portion guidelines
- prepare sauces, dressings, and other necessary components for dishes
- assist Line Cooks and Chefs with ingredient preparation for service
- maintain proper food storage and labeling using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method
- follow all local, state, and federal food safety regulations to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
- store and handle food safely to prevent contamination and cross-contact
- clean and sanitize prep stations, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment before and after use
- monitor food temperatures and adhere to safe cooking and storage procedures
- wear appropriate PPE and follow ServSafe and OSHA kitchen safety protocols
- work efficiently to ensure all prep tasks are completed before service begins
- assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries and kitchen supplies
- maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked prep area
- support other kitchen team members as needed to ensure smooth operations
- follow instructions from the Head Chef and adapt to changing kitchen needs
