Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServeSafe CFPM certification
  • prior experience in professional cooking or food service
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures

  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ServeSafe CFPM certification
  • ability to follow recipes and adjust production according to demand
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of work area

  • ability to work collaboratively with management and kitchen staff

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of menu items each day or meal period in Residential Dining
  • cook in small batches as needed to maintain quality, minimize waste and insure food safety, quality and customer satisfaction
  • use proper cooking procedures and techniques, adjust recipes and production schedule as required by production numbers
  • use approved sanitation and food safety procedures (ServeSafe CFPM certification required)
  • properly rotate perishable ingredients with Management/Chef input and schedule use for any overproduction to eliminate waste and ensure highest quality menu items
  • perform routine cleaning and organization of work station, equipment, food production, and food storage areas
  • with input of Management/Chef, set required menu production quantity for each meal period
  • keep records and documents actual usage and overproduction amounts
  • perform other duties as assigned
