Job Requirements
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously
- Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- One or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
- One or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
- Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to communicate effectively
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Enhance resident experience through exceptional food production
- Control quality and quantity of food items at the station including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts
- Model The Sterling Touch® with professionalism, friendliness, courtesy, helpfulness, and timeliness
- Adhere to Community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy under Executive Chef guidance
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in food preparation areas
- Assist with inventory management and requisitions as needed
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
