Job Requirements
- Minimum one plus year equivalent experience
- familiarity with food items, culinary terms, kitchen equipment usage and knife safety
- must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
- must have the ability to learn basic cooking skills, safety and sanitation skills
- good interpersonal skills
- must be able to work quickly, independently and as a part of team
- must have physical and mental strength and endurance to perform duties in sometimes extreme environments
- ability to frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds
- expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls
- minimum age 21 years or older
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- food handler permit required
- minimum one plus years kitchen or food preparation experience
- familiarity with food items, culinary terms, kitchen equipment usage and knife safety
- ability to learn basic cooking skills, safety and sanitation skills
- good interpersonal skills
- ability to work quickly, independently and as a part of team
Job Duties
- Completes all assigned items on prep list prior to departure
- prepares all food items used on the cook's line or in-service areas by making sauces, dressings, chopping foods, cleaning and cutting fruits and vegetables etc
- properly rotates, stores and labels food
- understands and knows how to use kitchen equipment including food processor, dishwasher, convection oven, etc. safely
- assists in cleaning, stocking, rotating and storage off all food and beverage inventory and storage locations
- loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food if applicable
- transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand, rolling cart or hand truck
- cleans food preparation areas, equipment, floors and tables
- oversees and organizes food preparation areas, walk-in freezers, coolers and shelves
- demonstrates teamwork while working respectfully with all team members
- communicate clearly while demonstrating willingness to help all team members
- provide safe workplace environment for all staff members
- provide harassment free workplace of all staff members
- protect consumer health with strict adherence to all sanitary and safe food handling mandates and practices
- performs other related duties as required or assigned
