Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous prep cook experience preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Willingness to comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform tasks in standing positions for extended periods
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently
  • Reliable transportation to the West Des Moines location

Job Qualifications

  • Previous prep cook experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented mindset

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • Take orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
