Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • basic culinary or food safety training beneficial
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • strong communication skills
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • dependable and punctual
  • willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred but not required
  • basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • positive attitude and team player mentality

Job Duties

  • Wash, chop, slice, and dice vegetables
  • prepare sauces, marinades, and dressings
  • portion proteins as directed by the chef
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations including proper storage of food items and supplies
  • safely operate kitchen equipment such as knives, food processors, and mixers adhering to safety protocols
  • assist in receiving and storage of food deliveries ensuring proper rotation of inventory and minimizing food waste
  • assist cooks and chefs in food preparation during service including expediting and plating dishes as needed
  • follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
  • work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service
