Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Must be at least 18 or older
  • Food handler certificate required
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including late shifts, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • Good knife skills and knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion controls accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Measure ingredients and prepare them according to recipe guides
  • Wash and peel ingredients for meal preparation
  • Cut and portion different types of meat according to specifications
  • Track ingredient quantities to ensure sufficient stock
  • Store ingredients properly to preserve freshness
  • Report low ingredient stock or faulty kitchen tools to supervisors
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, tools, and utensils
  • Monitor food and storage temperatures to maintain safety
