Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to follow health and safety regulations
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- Flexible availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Finger and hand dexterity to operate food machinery with or without accommodation
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry, and move goods up to 100 lbs continuously with or without accommodation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences
Job Duties
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
- Start food items prepared ahead of time ensuring no over-preparation
- Date all food containers and rotate per standards while maintaining proper temperatures for perishables
- Check inventory pars for shift use and note out-of-stock items or shortages
- Assist in buffet stocking and return unused food items to storage with proper coverage and dating
- Help set up plans to control food costs and manage food waste according to standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
