Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- One or more years of experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
- One or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
- Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Manual dexterity with kitchen equipment
- Physical ability to stand and move continuously and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely in varying temperature conditions
Job Qualifications

- Ability to read, write and understand English to follow recipes and communicate effectively
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull continuously
- Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges
Job Duties
- Prepare and control quality and quantity of food items at the station including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, desserts
- Model The Sterling Touch® by providing professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely service to residents and guests
- Follow community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy under the guidance of the Executive Chef
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assist in training and guiding kitchen staff as needed
- Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently
