Job Requirements

No prior retail experience required
must be able to lift 50 pounds
standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), between 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
ability to work in wet and dry conditions
ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
may require use of ladders

Job Duties

Cuts fruits and vegetables following all safety and sanitation rules
ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
maintains sampling program
cleans department continuously and maintains sweep logs
provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs in a timely manner
maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
complies with established procedures including health and sanitation, Weights and Measures, and safe work practices
