Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel and reach for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a prep cook in a high-volume environment
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and marinating, following recipes and portion guidelines
  • Follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste
  • Organize and stock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth workflow during meal service
  • Maintain a high degree of standards in cleanliness and sanitation in all the kitchen areas, including equipment, countertops, and storage areas, following food safety regulations
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure food quality and freshness
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, labeling prep items, receiving supplies, and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and workflow
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Assist with dishwashing duties as needed
